Welcome to Alaska!

A Point in Time is located in Soldotna, Alaska on the Kenai Peninsula. Dave and Pam LaForest have been engaged in photography since 1982 in a wide variety of locations throughout Alaska, Colorado and Kansas. Dave and Pam specialize in, but are not limited to, location portraiture and travel photography. Please review each of the links above to see our services and what we can do for you.

history & Affiliations

Bald Eagle Sunset in Homer, AlaskaDave and Pam are both students & graduates of the New York Institute of Photography, the world's largest & most respected professional photography school.

Dave is affiliated with the Evidence Photographers International Council, and many other forensics & evidence related associations in the U.S. He has spent the last decade in Alaska, refining his skills in photojournalism, portraiture, commercial & travel photography. Dave's early years as a photographer include experiences in: photojournalism & travel photography in Colorado, storm, historical & travel photography in Kansas and a vast array of transportation & location photography all across the plains & mountains of Colorado and Kansas. Dave has been published numerous times in the local print and TV news media as well as in major publications such as: Firehouse Magazine, JEMS Magazine, Fire Rescue Magazine and other Fire Department and EMS related publications. Dave's work has also been featured in calendars, photography shows and in Alaska's Annual State Fair. Newborn Moose in SoldotnaPam is a photography student as well as an artist in every sense. She is an integral part of the studio; Pam provides much needed support in the digital darkroom and in assisting with the portable studio equipment and other studio business. Pam has been a recreational photographer most of her life, and has now joined the ranks of professional photography through hands-on experience, professional classes and a truly gifted eye for still life and macro photography. Many of her works have been purchased and proudly displayed in homes through the region, and all over the United States.
